Well, 1st day I have to send picks to AdeyC, 2nd day I have to send picks to ESimp, because I play against AdeyC in qualy finals, 3rd day I then AdeyC makes OOP, but I have to send picks to ESimp again... How could I NOT be confused here?!
I mean, it's only a game, but I feel sorry for my doubles partner at least... -.-

I agree. It's supposed to be a game and I think this situation is quite confusing. Everything is not black and white.

And as the doubles partner in question, I noticed he sent to the wrong person and told him to send to the right one, but he didn't see in time, which is frustrating to me.

That said, it was in GIGANTIC font and I can understand that the picks don't count.

On the other hand, unless you go to the TT Forum regularly, I'm not sure everyone is aware of the rule changes, and I'm not sure what is the best way to make the hundreds of TT players aware of what was debated last off season.

Maybe the manager shouldn't take on the tournaments if they cannot do it for the entire duration, or make players send to both managers throughout the entire tournament if one manager cannot be operating on full schedule.

Not speaking on the board thread cause I had enough of this last year.

This.
I mean, I am thankful for the manager's work and everything (I was an admin for a community site myself once and I know how much work this can be), but if the result is confusion, I don't know... It's not the first time I see someone sending to the wrong person...

Circumstances can arise/events happen which mean that a Manger is going to be away at times - they might not know this will happen at the time they select the event to Manage.

sure, make it more difficult for the managers - they are being very well-paid to do this job

I understand the frustration of those who sent to the wrong manager. My first impulse was to send to AdeyC, but it was written in gigantic letters that they should go to ESimp. I also understand this is only a game and some tolerance is expected, but we've had some big problems with this last year. Just imagine if AdeyC had gone on a trip for the rest of the week.

But AdeyC isn't on a trip, he's here and he could forward the picks to ESimp.
Don't get me wrong. I made a mistake and if my picks don't count because of that - fine. The rule itsself is good. But a little more common sense every now and then might be a good way to go. After all, it is the manager's decision and I will accept it either way.

I'm here now - but I wasn't here prior to the deadline, I logged on to check my doubles diffs, etc, which was when I saw the picks in my inbox after reading the above.

Of course I can - but the issue is that picks to the wrong person cannot be accepted any more.

Because I am a Board member, playing here myself, and personally benefit from the way things have turned out, I cannot and will not be seen to be making a decision that is being made purely to benefit me - which is why I abstain from this and have asked the rest of the Board to comment.

As board member I say not to accept this picks. Players had one obligation, to read carefully OOP.
About coolfish stupid post I'll say that ESimp apply for this tournament one month ago, in this month everything can happen, unexpected trip or circumances, for example when I manage Moscow, boss came and said to me today you should travel for one day for Bucurest, what I should say : " Boss I'm sorry I'm managing TT this week and I can't". Be serious every manager have private life and he is managing here because he/she love game, in real life I should go to work, university but I try my best but because of people like you i'm aksing should I continue doing everything

Sorry for mistakes I'm writing while I'm driving

This is when the game stops being fun. Everyone is able to make a mistake like this, but apparently there is no room for it. This is just a game, but it certainly doesn't seem that way right now.

I am perfectly aware of that, and that's also why I don't expect a board member to come and defend the case of MathMul and I.

I will wait for the ruling of one more board member here.

When I logged back on and saw two people had forwarded me picks, my inclination was to not accept the picks. As much as I understand the frustration of having to send to someone that does not post the OOP it is the players responsibility to read the OOP and send to the correct person listed (was listing in huge bold font).

As far as not managing because I don't have time. I'm sorry that a week before this tournament I was asked to go away and work for the weekend, with only having internet on my phone. I could have tried to manage via my phone which would have turned out not so well so I made arrangements with Adey to run the qualies. When I found out I wouldn't be back until late last night I also asked him to post oop so that players could have a decent amount of time to send pick.

I think as a whole we need to address players being made aware of rule changes...but that is not for this tt thread. :-) Maybe if someone knew forwarding picks was no longer an option they would double check before sending. Because even though I got involved in some of the discussions I don't know how some issues ended up and i cant be alone.

Players have to take some responsibility themselves though, and given that the majority of players sent to the right manager I don't see why an exception should be made for the ones who didn't. I didn't follow the discussions much this year but if I lost because of a rule change (which this isn't) that I was unaware of then that's my fault for not checking the rules, not anyone elses for not telling me about the rules when I could have checked them myself.

The TT rules have evolved over time to remove as much subjectivity as possible as this is what the majority have wanted.
