Default Monfils' potential 1st AO title

We all know everybody (tennis experts, journos,...) is talking about the(open era)record of 49 consecutive 1st rounds that Federer can achieve this year.

But why is there no talk at all about the (open era) record Monfils might achieve being the first French man to win an AO title?

This is a grand slam event not an international circus performance.

Because he needs to destroy Simon first, maybe Murray as well, or maybe even whoever comes next for specialists to consider him as real potential winner imo.

He's been out of sight for some time and ppl forgot how good he still is and that he's a legitimate contender for this tittle.

Honestly I think he only has to worry about Federer, once he gets to the final it will be a breeze against Nishikori.

He is entertaining enough, just needs a natural clown nose like Federer's to be even more so.

Monfils would be a frontrunner if they were handing out Grand Slams to players for their ability to make the crowd gasp.

This is very original. Receive this award for how fantastic you are, OP. Not lame at all.

Yes, this could be the year of Monfils. Heck, he's already scored 39 DF in two matches, who's going to stop him?

Gael Monfils for president!!!! Please let the man go all the way and win the title. That would be amazing in a hilarious way.
