Berdych Bullies Melzer 6-3, 6-2, 6-2
Clinical performance from Berdych.
He pushed Melzer around throughout the bulk of the match, routinely hitting through him from either wing. The Austrian, though not for a lack of effort, never really had an answer.
Yet another top 8 player toppling an inferior challenger with complete ease. Bring on the R16.

for a guy with Melzer's class the results this year are showing that he is getting old

The little 4 really are gunning down the competition.

Re: Berdych Bullies Melzer 6-3, 6-2, 6-2
Melzer had no chance at all. BerdyGod vanquished him, obliterating all chance. Too bad, I expected more of a fight. The scream fest on central court was too desperate, so this match was the alternative.

BigBerd.
That was some FSK-18 material. There was nothing Schmelzer could do about it.

I can see Berdych actually taking a set off from the Djoker if he keeps this up

It was against Melzer, so nothing to get excited about.

I'm glad he's in Djoker's quarter rather than Fed's.

Good to see Tomas is quietly sailing through the draw and playing very good tennis. Shame he had to be drawn into Novak's quarter Any other section of the draw and he'd have a very good shot at semis at least.
Next match with Anderson should be tougher but Tomas should prevail.

Especially Ferrer and Tipsy but even in Fed/Murray's half he'd have a better chance at completing the GS SF slam . How ironic is that though - the "harder" part of the draw is "easier" for him.

Man, this was Melzer's golden chance to win his 4th slam.
It's a pity.

For Berdych, the toughest quarter would always be the one with Djokovic. Very unfortunate that with Nadal out he is drawn against his other bete noire
