Australian Open R3: Anderson d. [22] Verdasco 4-6, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-2
Seems like a cracker. Also seemed like Nando fell to pieces in the 5th set.

Sooooooooooooooooooo good!
This made up for Benneteau's loss. I'm happy!

Anderson was just hitting bombs in the 5th set especially off the forehand. Him and B-nard should have a hat-off.

Scoreline suggests it but Nando really didn't do anything wrong in the 5th. Anderson went full Rosol smashing winners left and right.

That's right. Anderson reached God mode during the 5th set, and there was nothing Verdasco could do. Berdych will have big problems in the next round.

Excellent 5th set by Kevin! I've said it before, Anderson is a dangerous guy with a big game. Hope he can get further, I like him

I feel bad for fiasco considering the efforts he's made to improve his game but can't help feel that the "curse of milos" still hangs around his neck like an albatross. He must apologize and clear his conscience.

Predicted the 5 sets in my WWW thread. What I did not predict is that one of them won't choke. Anderson was great in the 5th when I thought he would choke. Went out there and won it. Two breaks in the 5th says it all. Great result!

Rooinek was really on fire in the fifth. Good, positive attitude and some great winners.

Re: Australian Open R3: Anderson d. [22] Verdasco 4-6, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-2
What a match! I am so happy!! I switched off the tv in disgust at 1-2 in the fourth set after Kevin missed another breakpoint with that volley unforced error (he missed a breakpoint in the first game of the third set too on an unforced error). Glad though that I got back up to watch the remainder of the match (from 2-2 fourth set). Kevin recovered from 1-3 in the tiebreak by hitting a strong return to make it 2-3 and then he was in control. Nice forehand winner to win the match. Hope his left shoulder is OK, the pain medication seemed to kick in just in time! Go Kevin!

Andersen is not exactly what I would call a "talentless freak." A bit of a ballbasher, but a quite talented one.

I agree. 14 winners to 4 unforced errors in the 5th set of a grand slam match is hit-or-miss...

Yup, when he's good he's good, and for sure it's not once in a lifetime like Rosol
