Ahem no, Berdych did not win the Davis Cup single-handed, he lost to Ferrer in the final. It was rather Steps who did it in this case.

He had a 5-4 record against Fedal in 2009, 5-5 if you include Djokovic (2-2 in Slams). This is a better record against those three than even Murray got in 2012. Also, despite ending the year #5 (but rising to #4 in early 2010), he had more ranking points from Grand Slams than Murray and Djokovic put together (they were ahead of him because of an awesome M1000 year for both but in big events they weren't even close) and also reached the WTF final. And no, not just because of the USO title, he did better than Murray in 3 of the 4 Slams and Nole in 2 of the 4 (same result in Australia). He also racked up more Slam points than Nadal but only because the latter missed Wimbledon of course.

Unless you want to argue he got hot for an entire 12 month period, which would be quite exceptional, his Slam win was not the product of suddently getting hot.

I blame the wrist injury not long after his USO win for halting his momentum. Worst luck a new slam champ could've got. If he can play that well again remains to be seen, but I haven't written him off yet .
