He was talking about Tomic's complete lack of achievements in tennis, that he does not have the right to run down on Brands. He did not say Tomic's current playing level could not be compared to Federer's. (Not that it could - even at his age, Fed is easily above Tomic.)

Great scoreline from Daniel. Let's hope he can continue this form.
Tomic hopefully taken out summarily by Federer next round.

Brands was in MP saving mode today. One at 4-5, two at 5-6, three in the TB from 3-6. Another one at 6-7. But then A-TOMIC had enough of the Brandwagon.

Close match, Brands could have won this if he had played some key points better.
That being said, glad Bernie is through to set up the anticipated round 3 clash with Roger.
I have a feeling Roger is going to clean Bernie's clock, but I will certainly enjoy this match between two of my favourite players

Not comfortable - a real scare for him.
Brands was better than he anticipated and he even admitted it. At least Courier as commentator supported that brands played well. "how is this guy ranked outside the top 100????' - Jim Courier.
But even playing so far above his ranking, Brands is not Federer. Tomic will need to find a way of breaking serve. Sure Tomic has served really well- but he has not broken serve very well. He needs to rediscover how he could break Djokovics serve.
