AO Rd2: Murray[3] routines Sousa 6-2 6-2 6-4
Murray was not even running for shots the last couple games(almost Serena like), must be a scorcher. At least he's through with no drama, and not breaking himself once, like he's wont to do.

Re: AO Rd2: Murray[3] routines Sousa 6-2 6-2 6-4
Decent enough. His forehand was, yet again, his best shot. It's bizarre, but the improvement in it has been remarkable.
His attitude in the last set was so Sampras-like, barely bother breaking again, just serve-bot to the finishing line. Good tactics on an oven-hot day.

NID. The officer keeps routining his opponents. There was never a chance for Sousa against the great Scott.

Yep routine win without getting out of first gear. The last set Andy looked like was barely trying in return games, he knew he was serving very well and the one break would be enough. Energy conserved.

Re: AO Rd2: Murray[3] routines Sousa 6-2 6-2 6-4
Nothing to be ashamed for Joao. No bakery products involved. I was expecting him to win 5-7 games and he won 8, so I am glad. Some nice points won, but also some normal silly mistakes for someone who never played in a court this big, vs. a player from other league. I am pretty sure he learned A LOT today, and he will use this match to be a better player in the future.
I am proud of my countryman and hope this is the first of many matches in central courts of Slams. For this year I hope he makes a good trasition from Challengers to ATP. top 70 is realistic at the end of the year. For now he will probably be in top 90 next week, which is his best rank ever (his current is 92).

Re: AO Rd2: Murray[3] routines Sousa 6-2 6-2 6-4
Murray did what he needed to do. You could tell he wasn't particularly pressed to go after anything, defensively or offensively.
It left him in an awkward sort of fluctuation throughout the match because he could win the match however he chose to do so.
His forehand left a bigger impression on me than his backhand, which is a great sign. He really hit through it well at times. I still think it leaves something to be desired when he goes up the line with it, but I'm sure he'll continue to improve.
After what I heard about in the last round, it was good to see him pepper the serve a bit more under the heat.

Go Andy Andy is one of those players who seems to put forth just enough effort to win.

got a much tougher draw than djokovic on the other side, with federer in the semis. but based on current form its an even money encounter, as he is now a GS champion.

No bagels or bread-sticks is fine with me. Murray was always going to win it.
