Default Federer's potential 5th AO title

We all know everybody (tennis experts, journos,...) is talking about the(open era)record of 3 consecutive AO titles that Djokovic can achieve this year.

But why is there no talk at all about the (open era) record Federer might achieve winning his 5th AO title overal?

Because he's probably not going to win this tournament.

Because he needs to destroy Denko first, maybe Tomic as well, or maybe even whoever comes next for specialists to consider him as real potential winner imo.

He's been out of sight for some time and ppl forgot how good he still is and that he's a legitimate contender for this tittle.

I'm no Fakervic fan but he needs to save tennis, sadly tree trunk legs will be fresh. Interesting he's never questioned...

It's just a possibility as it is a possibility of djokovic winning his 3rd consecutive that everyone is talking about.

Yes, djokovic is the favourite but how many times ahs the favourite not won a tournament. It can happen. Also Federer is at least 3rd favourite, according to betting houses, imo he's 2nd tied with Murray.

What I think is that the tennis experts and journos are promoting the sport's next biggest stars djokovic and murray. They maybe think Roger and nadal are now less appealing than djokovic and murray which I disagree with. I still think Roger is the one who attracts the biggest crowds.

Because journalists are being realistic. Sure there's a chance Fed might do it, but it's unlikely. Please stop crying fedtards and enjoy the tournaments.

Yeah, I too have noticed how the press are only talking about how this title will be either Djokovic or Murray to take. Hardly any mention of Federer winning the title. However, out of all the players in the tournament, I think he's been handed the toughest draw.

Thank you for the first non-trolling post.

Faith in MTF restored.

It's this. Federer is retired in the media's mind, they've always wanted an excuse to bury him. After all, Federer is more articulate than them, constantly makes their doomsday predictions look foolish, speaks more languages, and is more media friendly than the whole 'tennis' media combined. Especially tards like Wilander and McEnroe, who've had their medoicre careers surpassed in every way by Roger's greatness, have been looking for a reason to bury him since 2004.

Can't wait to hear the ad-hoc justifications and scrambling to praise Roger after he wins, just like after Wimbledon last year and getting #1 back.
