Tipsy was the better player but no reason for Hewitt to not win one of those first 2 sets

That's it, I am officially no longer supporting Hewitt. He's lost me forever now, with that disgusting display. Up 6-5 in the first with 0-30, then plays a disgusting tiebreak. Then up 3-0 in the second, double break lead, serves for it at 5-4, 30-15 and loses it. It seems that his play in Kooyong was just a fluke. He may as well retire now, no point going on and losing matches like those, blowing massive leads. Whatever, I'm done.

omg..and you call yourself his fan? he tried as hard as he could, he is not young anymore, Tipsy was just pretty solid for him.

What are you talking about? Hewitt's game has been all he could do in an official match at his age. Getting upset with him for this makes you look like you were never his true fan.

Hewitt lost his chance in the second set. That was the key I'm afraid.

Former fan, now. I am sick of being disappointed, you can't lose a set from 3-0 double break, serving at 5-4, 30-15.

I have been a fan for over a decade, but the way that he lost that second set has ruined that for me.

Actually, it happens all the time. Lleyton gave 100%, like he always has. I'm pretty sure he's more disappointed at losing in the first round than you are. Anyhow, you can support whoever you like. Just remember that every player falls from the top, that's if they're lucky and good enough to make it there in the first place. As long as Lleyton keeps picking himself up off the canvas and keeps trying, his fans will support him.

True, Lleyton is a fighter who always gives 100 %. But for someone who´s consdered to be mentally tough, he´s always lost matches he should have won, and won 5-setters that should have been over in 3. I know he´s far from his glory days, and even playing is an achievement for someone with his injury history. But that´s not an excuse to lose a double break, or blow the chances he had. He had chances to push this one to five sets, failing to do so was all mental.
