Some outstanding tennis from Tipsarevic. Hopefully he keeps that level up and he can go deep here.

As for Lleyton. Works so hard for leads, then lets them slip - he's been doing it for years now. Gotta put it down to playing in less big matches than he used to and his flat groundstrokes. Because he lacks that real top level weight and acceleration in the shot it just sits up perfectly for the likes of Tipsy and Jo to crack winners. He used to hit with more loop, now he hits flatter but sometimes it hurts him.

Tipsy taking out the trash in style. Tennis won Spewitt

Nah, in all seriousness, it was a great match. Great quality ballstriking from both. Felt like a five setter out there at times. Tipsy came up big in the crucial points while Hewitt didn't, and that's what separated them. That 3rd set from Tipsy was almost flawless, except for that mid-set choke. Good game.

This is not 2002 anymore. Healthy Tipsy in 3 was expected.

I remember a commentator remarking on it yonks ago. If Hewitt played every point like he was behind he would have significantly better results.

Tipsy has matured as a player indeed, but I expected Hewitt to hang in there for longer than he did.

I felt bad for Hewitt but Tipsy was just too good in the end. He could make a great run for himself playing like that.

Feel sad that Hewitt is out, but to beat Hewitt in straight set is awesome result for Tipsarevic.
