Re: AO R1: Janowicz d. Bolelli 7-5 6-4 6-3
First time I saw Janowicz playing. Maybe little rough start, but considering that he is pretty much rookie in this level( seeded player who MUST win in first 2 rounds ), he handled pressure quite well.
Beating Devvarman is clearly doable. So is Mugro /Gimeno Traver. Everything more is a bonus.

Re: AO R1: Janowicz d. Bolelli 7-5 6-4 6-3
devvarman not a good match up; had this no-pleasure of watching their USO 2009 match live, but i hope JJ just will keep sending bombs to the corners
ofc he's in a different situation now than in paris, also outdoor hard is prob his least fav surface, his rank is inflated for now, he indeed made progress, paris was the awesome tennis showing, but the fact is - he has very little experience on the main tour!
this is why each win, esp. against some experienced player, is just a very good win

Re: AO R1: Janowicz d. Bolelli 7-5 6-4 6-3
Coming here after a R1 loss in windy Auckland, being seeded for the first time in a Slam, starting terribly for the first few games,I think it's impressive that he got the job done safely in 3 sets.Should destroy the pusher in next round and then it's Almagro.

if he manages to reach R3 and play Almagro will be good AO for him.

He could cause Almagro a lot of problems - Mugro's hc return game looked as bad as ever vs Johnson, and of course he lost both tiebreaks....

I think he would be the favorite really. If the serve is on, the match could basically be a shootout and I'm not so sure that Almagro can consistently serve as big if that match is at night.
We all know that Almagro can lose close sets to just about anyone in the world.
There are a few pundits who simply want to bank on Janowicz just being hyped too much. I kinda disagree, I think he can do a lot of damage, look elsewhere if you want to see some disappointment: Raonic, Dimitrov etc.
They did get burnt with this match. I do admit that Bolleli being a very weak returner had something to do with that this time around.

Tough luck with the draw for Simo, needs to keep his head up for what's next.

How so? Janowicz has tons of game and is far from being an all serve clown. Is it a huge weapon? Of course, but his groundstrokes are pretty good, powerful and his movement+footwork is excellent for a guy his height.

Should beat Devvarman easily. Hope he can make use of his seeding.
