Default AO R1: Devvarman def. Phau 6-3 6-2 6-3

The Indian is still competitive.

Phau 1/14 on break points, outaced by Devvarman

Devvarman's best result since successful Indian Wells&Miami Masters in 2011, it seems.

Fuck this match. Really pathetic, Bjorn. I feel like Filo V. now. 1/14 on BP, had chances on almost every single serve of Devvarman in the 2nd and 3rd sets.

Phau continues to live up to his reputation as most pathetic player on tour after De Voest.

solid routine win for Somdev. He needs wins like this to get back to the ATP level.

Does anyone know if Somdev is currently fully fit/healthy? Sure the result is great on paper but Phau is not a good and accurate measuring stick. I hope he is, can rely on annoying pushing at times but he's got nice pop on his forehand and is a pretty solid point constructor. I sort of enjoy watching him play depending on the match up tbh.
