After that, who is left? Roger Federer? Surely David's relentless consistency from the baseline will be enough to prevail in this one and break down the Swiss. Novak Djokovic? The only 5-set match they played on clay a sub-peak David Ferrer demolished a peakiest of peaks Djokovic in 3 easy sets, so I don't see any problems there. Rafael Nadal? Remember Australian Open 2011? If David is executing well, he calls the shots in this matchup and his form seems to suggest that it will be the case.

Last but not least he's a much better player than Juan Martin del Potro and the Argentine has a Slam to his name, so logic suggests David will be winning at least a few himself in the near future.
So scared of Ferrer winning this tournament that you go for the jinxing card, Mark Lenders?

Like seriously Mark, you can still give your actual opinions on things. I get you are protesting not being able to call Ferrer a vulture and whatnot, but you can be objective and critical of whatever you see as well.

Protesting? I would never... It just so happens that I love everything I see and can't find a single flaw with anything, and I'm also morally opposed to bashing for the sake of it.

Besides, I'm sure whatever new rule the moderators of this forum have set in motion, it was with the best interests of the users (who were surely consulted about said rule) and the community at heart. Not that I'd ever indulge in such repulsive practices anyway, but I'm sure outlawing 'player bashing' will do a world of good to the forum - again, I can't see a single flaw with this rule or any potential negative consequence. I'm fairly sure it will not be annoying to anyone in the long run.

Did the moderators really go so far as to ban vulture calling? Oh my, the moderators in this site really, really take themselves too seriously for their own good.

I am indifferent about nicknames. I love nicknames if they are conveyed as admiration.

I can't say I don't use negative nicknames too, as I can be guilty as charge, but I am more than willing to refrain myself from using them to prevent any potential tensions that may arise.

How about instead of calling Ferrer a vulture, we call him an opportunist instead?

It's a much more appropriate and formal description, which attains that synonymous nickname. Instead of using names that are obvious as nicknames, we can use formal words from the dictionary instead, that contains that connotation of your preference. For example instead of using pretty, or attractive, a negative connotation for that is high-maintenance, or preppy. Same definition, different meaning.

Then again, I may get a lot of harsh replies from this, but I am just suggesting viable alternatives.

Think about it, using nicknames can be repetitive and one dimensional.

At least, using well crafted words with those connotative twists is even more fun and exciting.

If there is nothing stopping you from using nicknames, then you can at least do it behind closed doors.

But, if this can't be prevented, then I have a proposal to make - which I'll start as a thread, if you're interested, just PM me. I think this can please both sides well.

Snowwy said that on the Feedback thread

No more Vulture thing (which is a silly and false thing, but very funny), and no more silly and funny nicknames.

I actually can see him reach the final this year. But he has no chance against Nadal or even Djokovic in the final...

The mods want all positivity and members to give fake and obvious answers?

Why couldn't he just state his opinion regularly about any matter he's talking about? The only thing the mods don't want is player-bashing and name calling. But that doesn't mean one can't be critical of a player (he isn't playing well, he blew that match, this won't be a fun match to watch, etc). I've been here a few months and have I ever sounded as ridiculous as Lenders was?
