WWW ? Australian Open R1 : Ferrer - Rochus
Two of the shorter guys on the tour.
Although Rochus is way past his prime, he's a better shotmaker than Vulture so it will all come down to him being on his day or not.
Unfortunately, it's been so difficult to find Rochus on his day for few years, so because of that, Vulture in 4.
But like I said, since he's more talented than Vulture he can still prevail in 3 or 4 if Rochus 2007 shows up.

Re: WWW ? Australian Open R1 : Ferrer - Rochus
I'd kinda like a last hoorah for Rochus, but Ferrer in 4. Rochus might take the 1st or 2nd but he has poor endurance and his level has really slipped in last 12 months.

But it's okay, because the top 10 playing more is good for the game!

Re: WWW ? Australian Open R1 : Ferrer - Rochus
I check this one day later and Rochus still leading
Only fair, since it's clear he's the far better player. He was very close to beatign Safin in the latter's AO 2005 title campaign - Safin beat him 4-6, 7-6, 7-6, 7-6 - and we all know what would have happened if it had been Ferrer facing Marat.

Your problem is that you think you're witty when you're not.
Ferrer in 3

With the win at Auckland, will Ferrer catch or pass Nadal in the rankings? He was pretty close before the tournament.

Since he won Auckland last year his points total won't change. He will go ahead of Nadal after the AO even if he loses in the first round.

Same here on the first part.
Disagree about the second part though: Peak Rochus > Peak Ferrer. Vulture will only have a chance if Rochus is off his game, otherwise he will take down the midget grinder in 3 sets.

Re: WWW ? Australian Open R1 : Ferrer - Rochus
This actually could get pretty bloody, 6-3 6-1 6-0 or something like that.

LOL This kind of goes against your Vulture theory. Isn't this exactly the kind of match that Ferrer thrives on and winning these matches keeps his ranking so high? Rochus is a much lower ranked player and Ferrer will routine him in my opinion.

Re: WWW ? Australian Open R1 : Ferrer - Rochus
What is with the OPs (and a few others) strange obsession with Ferrer, you guys obviously don't like him yet I've noticed you spend all your time here religiously following his matches hoping for a defeat to feed off. Its such a negative way of approaching sport. What's really ironic is all this vulture labelling when you are vultures yourselves in the way that you use negativity and others failure to survive and fuel your existence. I honestly don't know if its trolling or not, I think I'd actually prefer that it was so at least it means your not serious with all this hate and might be a better person in real life. But hey you'd know who you are and if there anything the internet can't hide you from it yourselves so maybe take a step back and ask yourselves am I really a guy that spends their time on the internet hating on a professional tennis player?
Back to the match Ferrer will be the obvious favourite and shouldn't have many problems with Rochus but he's going face some big challenges later on getting past guys like Baghdatis and Nishikori who have the potential to knock him over.
