Default Australian Open. QFR Amir Weintraub bt Diego Schwartzman 6-3/6-4

Congrats for Amir for reaching the MD coming from the qualies. If I´m not wrong this is his first participation in a GS.

Don't know how Diego did not manage to qualify after taking out the best player in the section.

Yes.
In 7 previous appearances in GS QDs(AO '11, AO '12, RG '12, W '11, W '12, USO '11, USO '12), he has only won a total of one match(at USO '12)

You really think that Alund was the best player on HC in this section ? Weintraub is way better. Diego did well in the qualy in my opinion.

Congrats Amir, I'm very happy for him

Amir got Pella in R1, not the worst draw he could get. Hopefully he can cruise to the 2nd round !

No, Weintraub has done nothing in his career, Diego has already won a CH at age 20 and Alund has been to 3 CH finals in his career, Amir is barely hanging on to a top 200 place.

Alund has won 4 matchs in his whole career on HC including Futures. Weintraub won in his whole career around 230 matchs on this surface with something between 50 and 60 in challengers and ATP level. He did already several finals on HC challengers. In my opinion, considering his improvements since two years, he's a far better player than Alund (who is already terrible on clay) on HC. Alund's game doesn't suit at all on HC

Totally agree with you. Weintraub is a better player on HC than Alund and Schwartzman. Both Alund and Schwartzman are poor HC players while Weintraub built a career on that surface.

So what, these are slow HC's, they are more like clay.

Alund isn't terrible on clay, don't speak suck crap.

Amir has never been to a CH final in his life.
