Default Re: Fed's QF streak has ended.

What's the fuzz with people saying Fed's got a tough draw and QF streak is going to end here?

Let me break it down for you.
The only hard draw he got is getting Murray instead of Ferru, and that was always a 50-50 shot.

First round Paire shouldn't be a problem
Second round Davydenko; Davy couldn't even beat Fed in his prime in a best of 5 so why would he do that now?
Tomic in 3rd, yes he improved but Fed will still beat him.
Raonic/Kohli in 4th, is a difficult draw but Australian Open courts aren't super fast so Fed will deal with Rao's serve first. And Rao's form this year seems to suck donkey d*ck.

Tsonga in QF is always better than having DelPo/Berdych. Tsonga is not fully fit so I doubt he will make it. Gasquet makes it to QFs? Gasquet only has reached 1 SF and almost lost to Zemlja/Davy in Doha. No worries there either.

It's got to end some time. But if it's going to end here, somebody is going to have to show us something they haven't before, whether it's abnormal lack of focus from Fed, or something better from somebody else.

Djoko for example has a tougher draw in PHM than Fed has in Paire. If Ferru ended up with Fed and Murray with Djoko, I think Djoko definately got the harder draw so to let it depend of 1 player in someones half (50-50percent change) and speak of a horror draw goes to far for me.

If Fed f*cks up his QF streak it's his own fault anyways, he just shouldn't be losing to players before the SFs.

Thanks for saying that I have no brain, it goes further than just playing tards' wars to say that.

I don't know about Enrique's brain but I don't think he's followed tennis in this start of this year if he really thinks that Raonic and Tsonga are a tough draw and Paire, Davydenko and Tomic are nothing. I think exactly the opposite : Raonic and Tsonga were the best possible draws in R16 and QF imo, and Paire-Davydenko-Tomic nearly the hardest possible.

Djoko has a much harder draw in early rounds than Murray, but Fed has an even harder draw than Djoko in early rounds for sure.

Paire and Mathieu are roughly the same (but Paire started the year better and his potential is not fully known) but then Fed's next round opponents are tougher than Djoko's: Davydenko/Harrison, Tomic/Troicki. Just look what those have done since the beginning of this year.

ah, you can not be serious. why take it on Novak? He might win but it's not given ... no conspiracy with the ATP/ITF my friend.

everyone gets old at some point, Nole will too. On the other hand, Fed will be in semis IMHO. He is good like that old whine .

I hope he'll teach Tomic few lessons

Dude if you saw my post before that I explained it. Yes Djoko has an easier path to the QFs but Mathieu is definately a better player than Paire. Also Davy never beat Fed in best of 5, not even when he was crushing everyone and now he doesn't even seem fully fit (Doha final). Raonic is in a terrible form and do you really see Kohli beating Roger? Don't think so. I would pick Tsonga(not fully fit)/Gasquet over Berdych in QF anyday so Djoko has the tougher QF.

Only thing Fed has tougher is the SF, and everyone can agree on that one. I admit that Fed has a tough draw but some Fed fans are really exaggerating.

Really tough comment dude. What I want him in front of my computer? Aren't we all behind our computers here, so I don't know what your point is.

And of course he "shouldn't" lose to players ranked outside the top 8. That's why he is #2, you are not suppose to lose against those players and he never did in Slams, that's why he has been so consistent in his results over the years.

It won`t end. But Fed will be too tired after that to beat Murray/Delpo in semi, in every match everyone will give him a run for his money. Unfortunatly, but well - never underestimate Federer, I gave up doing it after him making me wrong again and again.

he will do his best, and whether number 2 or not, he can lose making his best, nobody is invulnerable. Fed used to be near to invulnerable in 2005-2006 but it was a long long time ago, it's not the same anymore.

What he "should" do is only doing his best : if he loses, let it be, Fed is no God. He's a 31-year old guy who's had no warm-up tournament and who's used to struggling against the likes of Thomas Schoorel in his first matches of the year. Davydenko was very near from leading him 2 sets to love or 2 sets to 1 twice in this tournament in the past, even toying with Fed for one set and a half in their last match in the Australian open.

PS : I admit that I had made a mistake on your message about Raonic and Tsonga . Had only seen "Raonic is a tough draw". But I disagree on something : for Djokovic, Tsonga would have been a tougher draw than Berdych, for Fed it's the opposite, yes, but it's a matter of match-ups Tsonga even nearly defeated Djokovic in Roland-Garros.
