Agreed, he's 31 now and is going to be 32 on August 8th.

I'd be excited if either Tomic or Raonic were to beat him as it would, ultimately, be good for the game to see a younger player coming through in the majors and beating the elite.

Mind you, neither have quite the aesthetic appeal of Federer circa 2001 when he beat Sampras at Wimbledon to signal his arrival as a future major winner.

I agree with others here, though, that it is more likely he makes the semis than not. The shame is that I can easily see he and Murray cancel each other out in a grueling semi-final while Djokovic strolls through to the final.

Djokovic really doesn't need any extra help in Australia, and it could make the final rather one-sided...

Well said. It is not like the odds of Federer losing any of these individual matches is that high. Like 90% then 90% then 85% then 85%. But multiply that out and you have a 58% chance of getting through all the rounds.

Then given the current rankings, it'd be even better for the game if a young player beat Djokovic.

I'm still betting on Rogie making grand slam final #25 and AO F #6.

If Tomic beats Federer might as well kiss your loved ones good bye, it'll mark the beginning of the end of times.

Yes, I'm betting Rogie will win GS #18 and AO #5 as well. I was just taking it to the final to show it'd be his 25th final and 6th AO final. The 35 consecutive grand slam quarter finals (he'll make the QF here too) is most impressive as well.

Yes, it's better to Djokovic when's he's called the best of all time and most pretty to watch. It makes the weak era clowns very upset.

Why are people acting like Tomic is a tough opponent? To me he is the easiest third rounder out of the top 4

I think Djokvoic's era is weaker than Rogie's earlier years. Here he is age 31 (32 later in 2013) and he's #2 in the world and was even #1 for 4 months in 2012. Rafa physically couldn't hold up, Murray's not a big time winner, the others like Del Potro rarely win and Ferrer is 30 and about to be ranked #4 and never made a grand slam final. In Rogie's day you had Hewitt, Safin, and Roddick, guys who all won grand slams and made the finals a bunch of times.

lol @ anyone thinking Fixydenko will give Mugerer any trouble. He will relish the financial opportunity.

Sorry Djokonauts, I am a fan of Federer now. I've learned over the years to appreciate his contribution to the game. No one will ever surpass this man's influence.
Federer ~ The consummate professional. Never retired once in a match. Does not go over the time limit on every point.
Since becoming a Fed Fan I have had 0 moderations
