Australian Open Scheduling Idea
So I'm sure at this point most of us know about the absurd heat wave that is being experience Down Under right now.
With this in mind, I have this gut feeling that the tournament director will refuse to suspend play because of heat. I think after one disastrous day, he will realize something must be done.
Here's the plan:
The only way I can possibly see this working is if they were to start play around sunrise (6 AM roughly) and play until about 11 when the heat becomes unbearable. At that point play would be suspended until sunset around 7PM for the night session.
Obviously this will cause scheduling issues as all matches won't be able to fit in.
If they must, they can always play throughout the night on Rod Laver.
I mean, this sounds ridiculous and stupid and I bet some people on here will absolutely wreck me on this, but I feel like too many incidents will occur if they try to play in temperatures exceeding 50C
