Default Australian Open QR2: [2] Berankis def. Klahn 4-6 6-4 6-2

Great comeback for the talented Lithuanian. Was 4-6 1-4 down and it took 6 BPs for him to break at 2-*4 to get back on serve in the second set. Also saved a BP serving for the set at *5-4 after breaking Klahn again at 4 all.

In the third set, Berankis needed 7 BPs to break for a *3-2 lead, and had openings in the first two return games of the set as well. Was able to break and win the final three games.

Great win for him, another one of his now signature comebacks. He sure is a great fighter.

Well done Rycka!

In AO website:
Quote:
Lucky losers
If a main draw player is unable to play in the first round, the highest-ranked losing player in the third round of qualifying becomes a 'lucky loser' and fills the vacancy in the main draw.
First seeded Haider-Maurer lost QR2, Isner out from MD.

So it means Ricardas in AO MD, if he lost in QR3 he get LL

I'm right?

if this is correct then betting against Rycka in R3 will be the trend of the round

Great comeback from the kid, i hope this is a good set up for a good year.

wrong! he has just a 25% chance to get LL if he loses..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucky_loser

Shortly thereafter, a new policy was introduced in Grand Slam tournaments. Since 2006, the four highest ranked players who lose in the last round of qualification take part in a four-way random draw, the results of which are used to determine the order in which each player will enter the main draw. Consequently, if only one main draw spot for a lucky loser is available, the highest-ranked loser has just a 25% chance of entering the draw, instead of 100% as in the past. This element of uncertainty helps to ensure that final-round qualifying matches remain competitive. However, this rule does not apply in all other tournaments.
