Before the new time violation rules, I'd say a pretty good chance.
After the new time violation rule, SF at best.
Last year Del Potro was warned for slow play (going over 20 seconds) against Federer and he still did well (I classify that performance as good because he was nowhere close to being ready for RF and he still was pretty close on a few occasions in a scorcher of day).
Curious to hear what everyone thinks about Juan Martin's chances in Australia. The court is well-suited to his game, he played great at the end of the year, and he finally seems to be recapturing the form that made him a slam-winner.
Please respond by posting how far you think he'll make it in the tourney as well as an further predictions for his year ( I think he'll make the SF and finish in the top 4)
Also, as a side note, Del Potro is one of the most likeable players on tour...I don't think i've ever read anything bad about him. Please don't make this thread the first, keep comments respectful.
As much as I would like him to go to the end, he will not get farther than SF I fear and that is if things go his way. The court would work too much in favour of Murray and Djokovic were they to play against Delpo, Federer might lose against him, but that is if he does not reach his level and Juan Martin has a good day and Ferrer, as has been said, tends to hold the upper hand in their matches.
