Curious to hear what everyone thinks about Juan Martin's chances in Australia. The court is well-suited to his game, he played great at the end of the year, and he finally seems to be recapturing the form that made him a slam-winner.
Please respond by posting how far you think he'll make it in the tourney as well as an further predictions for his year ( I think he'll make the SF and finish in the top 4)
Also, as a side note, Del Potro is one of the most likeable players on tour...I don't think i've ever read anything bad about him. Please don't make this thread the first, keep comments respectful.
It all ends in the quarters. Nadull will be slamless, and will be almost 30 by the time his next possible slam comes, RG'16. June 3, 2015 is the day when Roger Federer secured his place in history as the Greatest tennis player of all time. IT ALL ENDS HERE. FATE ENDS DELUSIONS. Bitch.
He won't win but he could surprise us as even most DelPo fans don't have high expectations for him at the AO.... as for the guy being the most likeable, I agree. He's the kindest guy on tour VERY humble.
Depends on the form he'll show. He's a slow season starter from what i think, but he has all the goods to actually win the tournament with a favorable draw, f.e. Djokovic and Murray on same side and him having to deal with Ferrer in the QFs, then Fed.
Yeah the AO is obviously Gasquet's to lose after destroying the hairy Russian in Doha.
Del Potro? If he draws Ferrer he can make a semi.
How would drawing Ferrer increase his chances? He has a very bad H2H against Ferrer, and he lost every single match he played against him in 2012. While he beat Federer twice and Djokovic once.
Unless the idea is that Ferrer will be slumping for the AO, drawing him would not increase Del Po's chance much, actually, maybe the reverse.
I do believe Del Po has good chances for the AO, though. I'd say QF most likely, possibly better (yeah I know that's not much of a prediction )
