I know they're not bums, but Kudla was quite a bit ahead of the other two in terms of development and the gap seems to have been narrowed quite substantially. I know Sandgren is in good form though.

Well to be fair, Kudla got a head start in the pro while Kosakowski and Sandgren went to college for a couple of years. I'm not really that surprised to see him struggle against them b/c he can't over power them and both players have decent to good backhand (Kudla's strength) as well as good serve. His experience is what probably got him the wins.

Alex's main problem seems to be his inability to get a lot of length on his shots. So many of his shots should allow Russell to dictate and hit winners (yet Russell's preferred response seems to be to net the shot).

Russell's serve has also gone AWOL.

Russell is always playing his backhand, Alex doesn't seem to have much confidence in that shot. Just puts the ball back in play.
