Worst day of his life. I wish I can give him a hug and tell him it's okay. It's okay Gilles. It's the end of the world today, but tomorrow the sun will rise again, if not, maybe two days later, or eventually.

Needless to say, the end of his DC career here. Trust me that I'm as devastated for him as he is. But there is always the silver lining which is the ending of this eternal struggle. Sometimes, hope is more torturous than hopelessness.

Terrible performance. Just a shame, really hope he won't tank the whole clay season cause of this match

I don't think it will stop there lala. I think this will hurt Gilles for months. He may have just thrown away the clay court swing of the tour. He's going to feel so worthless and demoralized over this and his confidence, which was already low, will be wiped clean. Pretty much the worst case scenario that could happen happened today for him. I hope he recovers as painlessly as possible but I know this is going to hurt him for a while just based on his reaction after losing.

I wish he didn't play for France, if he played for the U.S. no one would care . Oh well, he got some practice in on the clay. No reason to get down, he tried his best and that's all that matters. Benny and Llodra likely wouldn't have won either so there's nothing you can do. Sometimes you just say too good.

I know it's but I will say it's a shame that nobody does really care much for DC or tennis in general it seems in our country, because I think the USA vs Serbia DC tie has been the best tie of the weekend thus far. The Bryan Bros./Serbian duo tie was epic.

I will just say that I think part of the reason Gilles struggles in Davis Cup is that he likes to outsmart his opponents. When there's a coach on the other side, it makes that more difficult. In today's match, I don't think Berlocq would have been calm at all at 4-5 but he got to sit down on a changeover and have someone tell him what to do. It takes away one of his big advantages.

Well, I know. I'm sure the devastation will be long lasting, not to mention that it'll be months and years of ridicules from the French for losing their hope for them. But what can he do about it, what can we do about it. It's lost, it's over. He's crying, I'm crying for him. He gave it all, but his all not enough, he wants it badly, but that makes it worse. I'm not sure whatever to say. I can't hope that ppl will have mercy on him to not make it any harder for him than it already is. So I can only hope that at some point he will pick himself up. There's gonna be a long lasting effect of worthlessness probably. I'm going to give him time to deal with it. I can't hope there'll be no scar on him the next tournament or until next year. I don't know what to say. But I know he's devastated, I understand and will not be so naive to hope that he'll be okay soon, but he'll will be okay eventually.

I think what it most has to do with when it comes to Gilles these days is that his lack of confidence just doesn't allow him to play the big points well anymore. He almost always more often than not chokes which is what happens when you have little to know self-belief or belief in your game. I don't know what the future will hold for Gilles but if i'm being completely honest, I really question as of right now whether or not Gilles will ever be able to win another title. It's going to take the ability to win tight and big points and right now he's proven that he's just not up for it.

I think he can win Bucharest this year, at least he'll be the heavy favorite. Either way, I saw some silver linings in the matches this week. He played the big points poorly but I actually thought he was hitting the ball as well as he has all year on certain points during the match. There wasn't any consistency point in and point out but I saw some progress. I'm trying to stay positive and I hope his teammates keep his head up as well. It wasn't the finals so a lot still had to happen for them to win the title.

You know Gilles isn't going to look at it that way. He's going to look at it from the standpoint that he's the one who prevented them from having that chance. I don't know how his teammates will react when the cameras aren't rolling but I will say this. Llodra and Benny will have no room to judge or preach to Gilles because they didn't hold up their end of the bargain as well. They are just as much responsible in my opinion as Gilles is but I have a feeling that Tsonga will probably be reading Gilles the riot act behind closed doors.

We need a group hug guys.

You think that's bad. Just wait until the french Press comes out with their take on it and headlines. Gilles is probably going to be in for a brutal raking over the coals.

I haven't even gone on twitter because it's not worth reading the crap on there. Why attack someone who gave their all in a match? It's not like he wasn't trying. I'm a big fan of Federer, but attack him or Murray for not even showing up half the time, not someone who gives it their all.
