Del Potro decided not to play Davis Cup in 2013
Del Potro decided not to play Davis Cup in 2013. The desicion is based on the fact that he wants to focus on the tour but other sources had been mentioning that he has serious dissagreements with Martin Jaite.
In the end Del Potro is proving one more time that he is not interested on playing Davis Cup. He should be honest about that.

Re: Del Potro decided not to play Davis Cup in 2013
He is not interested on playing DC and that's ok, it's his career and he knows better than anyone what to do with it but, stop the crap saying he loves to play for Argentina in DC because that is pure BULLSHIT.

This is a very good decision. His stubbornness in playing DC ties has cost him in the past. Whatever be the reason, it is good for him.

It's better if he's honest with everyone. And I still don't think he's being honest, but this is a step in the right direction.

Re: Del Potro decided not to play Davis Cup in 2013
I'm sure this was a tough decision for Delpo, but probably the right one for his career. Cutting down on his schedule is always a smart decision for such an injury prone player and it's not like the Argentine crowd is ever going to fully appreciate him anyway, even after the won them a rare medal at the Olympics. He can win DC later on with a better captain anyway.

nalbandian/monaco are capable of beating germany and france at home. if it comes to a semi vs czech republic, we will see what happens.

It's a pity I really hoped Nalbandian would win DC at least once.

Yeah, Del Potro was holding back the true stars of the team: Monaco and Berlocq. Now without Delpo, they can play freely and win DC
Seriously though, I believe that if the current captain is replaced JMDP will be back in 2014.

Re: Del Potro decided not to play Davis Cup in 2013
Are you kidding? Argentina has been the definition of "close but no cigar" at DC for years. Seems impossible for them to win a title without Delpo.
Strange to me. He was so emotional after his bronze medal for ARG at the Olys? He went as far to say that that was the best achievement of his career - better than USO win, which was bullshit.

True, two GOATS will now have a chance to unleash their power and bring home the Davis Cup trophy.
