I hope these odds helped you realize who the fifth best player in the world at the moment is. Even with favorable seeding as #4, Ferrer is still miles behind Delpo as far as odds to win the tournament go.

As for that draw, it'd not be that bad actually, although far from ideal.

About the odds, Murray and Del Potro are overrated, Tsonga is very underrated.

Agree about Tsonga being underrated despite his poor late 2012 form, but no way Murray and Delpo are overrated here.

I would previously consider Federer a greater threat at hard court slams than Murray, even at the AO. If Andy is in Rogers half, its in Rogers favour in grand slam play.

But all things considered, I would give Andy the edge now he's broken through and won a slam. Novak favourite for sure.

Honestly, when i wrote my list and put Roger ahead of Murray it felt wrong, but i kinda wanted to keep it.

On a second thought Murray has more chances on slowish hard courts than Federer. Fed would be equal to him at Wimby and ahead at USO and RG, but AO is probably the only GS where there are real reasons to give a slim edge to Muzza.

About Tsonga, Ferrer and Berdych, Tipsa included - they might not even cross the 4th round barrier, it's the AO at the end of the day and it's not meant to have the top 8 in QFs.

We have players like Isner, Raonic, Kei, Almagro, Gasquet, even Bellucci, Verdasco, etc., who can win on their day anyone, but the top 4 in a Slam, so it will be a matter of day for the second range contenders in practically every match after the second round.

I wouldn't put a dime on the above top 4 guys (except Pony) below 100 odds, so Ferrer at 40 might seem like a deal, or Tsonga at 70, but these are just lost gambles.

I would personally put a few dimes on Pony at 17.50, which i believe is a very good price and a dime on Isner at odds over 150, which is a gamble, but i feel the guy will be in the last 8 (maybe even 4), so it would be a good one to trade later.

personally if I liked to bet (which I don't), and with such odds, I would clearly put a bet on Ferrer here.

I really do think that he has a chance from everything we've seen in recent months and from what he's already done in the AO.

I really don't get what reasonably makes that Del Po has better odds than him except that he won a slam 3 years ago.

Odds seem about right to me. Novak rightly so is the favorite. Seeing as this is outdoor hard court event i'm favoring Murray over Federer at this moment in time.

Its right Del Potro has shorther odds than guys who are slamless, but i think his odds are slightly generous on him i'd have him much closer to Ferrer. Ferrer being no 4 seed is likely to get a more favorable draw.

Tsonga and Berdych odds are a bit long in comparison to Potro and Ferrer I'd have them all alot closer together.

It's simple really: he's a better tennis player than Ferrer any way you look at it. He's 7 years younger and already had surgery and yet has far better achievements and victories and is far more capable of defeating the current top guys.

Odds are not made by MTF Ferrer fanboys but by people who need to put their money where their mouth is; no one who values their money could ever rate Ferrer anywhere near Delpo to win any Slam title - it's not like Delpo is likely to win the AO at all, but he could (slim chance of course) do it, Ferrer can't - he could play the very best tennis he's capable of and he still wouldn't have a chance.
