Re: Tomic on hardcourt 2013
I was pretty disappointed in how he played for most of the match.
Bernard talks big about goals (though I don't put much stock into what he says really) but then continues to put in a lame effort for a lot of matches. It has been a long time criticism of him so I don't know if/when he will ever change. He just seems content with being an ordinary player after January each year; R1 or R2 losses with a QF here or there. Sigh...

Re: Tomic on hardcourt 2013
He is definetely on the right track. Gasquet is not even a bad match-up I feel. Not expecting good results in Miami obviously though. The win in Sydney does not mean that his coaching situation is solved. Should find a good one before the Garros.

A true fan would still be sticking by him. You say you will come back when he starts getting sins. Uptime bandwagoning.

As I said, if he doesn't care about tennis at this time of year, why should I stick by him?
Why should I waste my time supporting a player who doesn't want to play?
What logic is this?
---------------------------------------------
That is not jumping off the bandwagon, because I was not on a bandwagon to begin with. I am just a fan and I will not waste my time saying crap like "Oh bad luck Bernie" when in reality it had nothing to do with luck at all

So then you're not a true fan, you fan only for his successes. I have wasting more 10 years of my time for Hewitt and I have not thought, about what I was wasting my time, if you want only the successes, there are Djokovic, Nadal or Federer.

Re: Tomic on hardcourt 2013
I am starting to think that the attitude he's showing is just a defence-mechanism, a kind of excuse. It's nothing positive, but he has definetely been working hard lately. He won his first title, which is a huge step at this age. I guess we should just stay optimistic regarding his future. Even though he tends to stop giving his best after a set-loss, he is naturally a bad match-up for most players - including Djokovic. Top twenty should be a realistic goal for this season, considering he is not defending any points.

Judging from the attitude he's displaying atm.....I'd say top 30 by year end is more realistic.....unless he picks up his act and plays to what we all know he is capable of
Also I don't think he is naturally a bad match up of most guys....Gasquet is more of a bad one in particular IMO because he loves to use short angles so much as opposed to keeping the ball deeper in the court which B-nard prefers.
