Well the quote is from Peter Fleming, but McEnroe disagrees. I think Fleming and McEnroe could be the greatest. Sure they don't have all of the records but they weren't doubles specialists like a lot of today's teams. 50 titles together (7 slams), including 7 consecutive titles and 14 in one year as well as a Davis Cup record of 14-1 and having an overall record of 351-42.
The Bryan brothers have a win-loss record of 777-247 and 82 titles (12 slams) and a DC record of 20-2.
The Woodies won 61 titles (11 slams) and have a DC record of 10-2.
Going further back Lutz and Smith won 5 slams together and had a DC record of 13-1.
