Hope Chardy can do some damage here, he can make the SF/F easily with this entry list. Also I hope Ramos can play well

Frederico Gil is going to start his season on the Davis Cup, I think he won`t come to play here

And, why Greul, Starace, Dasnieres, Brown and Pashanski will come from so far to risk playing a classification? I think they're not going to Viña

I hope Capdeville can enter to the main draw.

Starace will probably try his best in the southAmerican swing, which implies playing qualies considering his current ranking.

Wondering why Del Bonis didn't write down here. He could had been 2nd in the ALT list.

Confirmed WC to Nicolas Massu and Christian Garin.

The other WC will go to a top ten player (probably Nicolas Almagro) or to Paul Capdeville.

Hi Crustaceok
Do you know if Massu is planning to retire in this tournament?

Amazing that Garin received a WC for the MD . Probably at his stage of his career with 16 years old and without experience on the tour he could have received it for Quallies and give it to a player like Saez who did it pretty well in Future events and with 21 years old still has a shot to do it well on the Challenger tour. Or Podlinik Castillo,r Rivera Aranguiz or Saavedra Corvalan. Weird desicion .

The draw is pretty good and much better than it used to be in the past after Fernando Gonzalez rushed with every single title every year . Nice line up.

Hi!

Well, press here said a while ago that yes, but Massu refuted that the same day. He is training very hard now and says that his 2013's objectives are Viña, the Davis Cup and the Grand Slams.

About Garin: Personally, I think it would have been better to give the WC immediately to Capdeville and not wait for a top ten, which anyway I think will not come. For me the third option was Garin, but give him a WC inmediatly is also a good option: he is the only chilean (with Lama and Malla, perhaps) who can enter in the top 100 in the next 5 or 6 years.
Saavedra, Rivera and Podlipnik have more than 23 years and, for example, they have never played a challenger final; I think they are not so good options... Also, Rivera and Saavedra have had a very bad 2012, specially Saavedra.
Sáez is a great player, I have saw him and he really plays very good, but the people here don't know him very much. Garin attracts three times more people than Saez and that's a very important point for the tournament organizers (the brothers Fillol).

Great resume about the present situation of Chilean tennis . I will be following Garin, Lama and Malla more often then

awful main draw. And Monaco shouldn't be playing here right after Davis Cup and before Buenos Aires.

Viña del Mar needs some chilean star soon
