Re: Ferrer Named Spanish Player Of The Year
Where's his slam and slam final?
Anyway, I think he deserved it. He's had a fantastic year for his standards, and I bet it would mean a whole lot more to him than to Rafa. Nadal is probably happier Ferrer won it than if he would've, such a humble guy

Re: Ferrer Named Spanish Player Of The Year
Nadal has won the award twice. So has Ferrer. Even though Nadal has won at least one slam every year since 2005. Kind of funny.
Think the journalists want there to be some diversity though. Fair enough. Ferrer had a career year and Nadal gets enough recognition in Spain anyway - it's good for other tennis players to get kudos too.

Re: Ferrer Named Spanish Player Of The Year
Old news. Glad the haters get some rest in the off-season
But yeah, well deserved for Ferrer. A remarkable year.

Re: Ferrer Named Spanish Player Of The Year
love Ferrer but even in a season where Nadal was gone half the time, his accomplishments don't even come close
Nadal ::: 1 Slam, 2 Masters 1000 titles = much better than Ferrer's season :/
Nadal obviously was the Spanish player of the year once again BUT what the hell David probably deserves some serious recognition for respresenting Spain for the majority of the year

Re: Ferrer Named Spanish Player Of The Year
Based on what exactly? Nadal's year was far better. It's not even close tbh.

Re: Ferrer Named Spanish Player Of The Year
I think this is probably because Rafa's been winning this since 2005.
And it's totally deserved. Nadal is the biggest spanish tennis player ever, and if we compare this years' seasons, Nadal's is bigger than Ferrer's.
But, considering the injury and the fact that this was Ferrer's best career year. I can """understand""" this.

Re: Ferrer Named Spanish Player Of The Year
It was definitely the best move to give it to David this year.
He also won it in 2006, I'm not too sure about that decision.

Re: Ferrer Named Spanish Player Of The Year
Thoroughly deserved. Nadal didn't have a full season, so it would look weird if he won it. Plus, it's nice to see someone different for a change. He had the career of his life and gave his heart out in DC this year, so definitely he deserves it.

Nadal was weak this year. Vulture saw his chance and took hit.
