No need to do so. Imagine the film was about medicine, then you would be the expert here. We all have gaps in our knowledge, it is no shame

I know my history. MY history, Portugal and Europe. And that is why I feel.ignorant, because I normally don't feel like I have a knowledge gap in history

Well, as star said there is no necessity for us Europeans to know the ins and outs of US history. Besides, this is a good movie to introduce yourself to the subject

I think people shoul have a grasp of world history. I have a better understanding of English history than other European history. Probably French Russian and German in that order. I like Chinese history a lot but it is quite a task. I'm really ignorant of Indian history except for colonial history. I read history all the tie but I'm not sure how much sticks in my head. I need quizzes after each book.

Watch the Ken Burns series The Civil War.

There are even black people in it. Women too.

star, it took me three years in junior high to go through the basics of each dynasty in Chinese history. Almost each dynasty is longer than US history.

You known What bothers me? I have been doing all my traveling around Europe, so I know What I am seeing, I understand it. But going to Russia, I am familiar with the history but.not comfortable, or China, I know nothing about it. It feels wrong.

Yes. Chinese history is so rich. And fascinating too. But there is much tragedy and suffering. For me this period is more hopeful.
