So I’ve got two doubles match-ups where on each side only one of the player sent picks.
Thing is, there’s only 1 complete LL-team. How do I determine in which "match" the LL is placed?

http://www.menstennisforums.com/show...3&postcount=97

Also, after LL-placement the no.1 seed should get a bye, yes?

With insufficient amount of LLs to fill the draw they are placed against the lowest ranked team with non-sending opponents. And of course the LL pair cannot have a BYE so I believe, as you said, the #1 seeds will inherit the opposing team (who didn't send either) and the LLs will play the team originally placed against the #1 seeds.

It's not in the rules in detail, I think. So, I don't wanna decide alone.
I think it's not a bye when one of two players sent so a draw adjustment isn't needed. But whome to replace? I have two suggestions which should be discussed: Replacing the lowest ranked team or replacing the team with the lowest ranked opponent. Although it's not in the rules I would support option 1.

3.1.6 Alternates/Lucky Losers replacements

- Lucky loser and alternates replacements only happen in first rounds (Main Draw or Qualifying). There’s an exception to this rule (Rule 3.1.7).
- For the purpose of alternates/lucky loser replacements, a player who forgets to send their picks on the first day of competition (qualifying or main draw) will be considered a missing player.
- For the purpose of alternates/lucky loser replacements, a team will be considered missing in doubles if one of its players forgets to send their picks on the first day of competition (qualifying or main draw).
.....

3.1.8 Placing Alternates/Lucky Losers in the draw

- For the purpose of Alternates/Lucky Losers placement, every missing player will be treated as a bye.

I read this as it being a BYE with only one player sending.

A agree the lowest ranked team should be replaced (the qualifiers) but the LLs cannot get their opponents as they shall not get a BYE unless everyone else does too.

I also assumed one player not sending was a bye, which would mean changing the draw.

Anyway, seems like no clear decision on eather issue yet

Yes, probably best to wait to get another opinion since Mahqz doesn't want to decide alone.

So I guess I'll give the bye to the number one seeds, replace the lowest ranked team with the LL, and have the LL play the initial opponents of the number one seeds.

Number 1 gets bye and there opponents face against LL

I know suggestions are supposed to come at the end of the year but I don't want to forget this one:

I think players should be allowed to commit to play doubles with a random person. What this means is that somebody can commit for doubles without having to find a partner. The manager would make randomized pairings before the final entry list.

Just food for thought
