Funnily enough a similar thing's happened in Cordenons today - what should happen is as there's no ALT's available - the best scoring loser takes the place in the next round where the winner of the Flying_pancake (SRB) vs. (5) Trmooney888 (USA) match would have been placed.
I probably completely misinterpret something, so please explain some stuff.
Lets just assume that there are 250 TT players (I cannot check as I cannot find an uptodate EL for USO). I am unranked so I will fall roughly into alt10, so technically speaking no chance to get in. There is Como on that week, buti t is announced to players who do not reach USO MD. Considering some overlap in doubles and singles MD, roughly 150 players will play USO and 100 can play Como (resulting alt56 for me).
On the following week (second week of USO): I assume that all can play challengers who do not reach USO R16 (40-50 players). So 200 players will play the 4 challengers (4*44=176). So I have slight chance to play that week. I dont mind playing Q for a challenger, all new players needs to do that, but I want to play and with the current setup I cannot.
The solution is that you either play Como or USO(including Q) and one more tournament on the following week. (Or Adey simply dont say that TT welcomes new players )
