LOL, we have a choice in choosing a flag? I thought it pops up automatically depending on where your IP address is. Great, I could be talking with Nigerian scammers here.

Now I know how Time Violation can be a Serb and have the UN flag. I wouldn't have been so suspicious had I known. I suggest he change it and quit dicking around.

Serbia is a member of UN and even the president of UNGA is from Serbia, so not sure what's your problem. Did you also think I live on Mount Sharp? No wonder you talk about Mihajlovic, you must be 70 years old /offtopic

- Sorry Lenders for derailing your thread a bit -

Q: Did you watch Dragon Ball? If so what do you think?

Why do you continue to deny the existence of chance, probability, luck? The idea this might have a substantial bearing on a sports result, hence making it a fluke? Why is this impossible? The entire casino industry is based on chance. It is firmly established luck exixsts, why do you continue to deny the possible role of chance in sporting tournaments/events?

No problem with derailing the thread, all topics are welcome

A: Yes, I did. I do like the series, but I prefer both Pokemon and Digimon in the Mon genre. My main issue with Dragon Ball is its pacing, it's far too long and drawn out, especially Dragon Ball Z. It feels like an animated soap opera rather than an anime series often; it's cool overall, but give me Pokemon or Digimon any day.

What are you on about? I never denied the existence of luck and probability and its role in sporting outcomes. However, having to face Federer and Nadal to win a Slam is NOT luck. If we consider JMDP was lucky to win the final against Federer, then we must equally consider Federer lucky to have beaten JMDP in the French Open semis, where he was thoroughly outplayed for 3 sets, as much or even more so as JMDP in the USO final. There were two Slams in 2009 where JMDP played at a high enough level to win the title along with another player (Federer in both cases), each took one of those - which proves the laws of chance/probability if anything.

I'm assuming that's what you were referring to specifically given how you keep insisting JMDP's Slam title was a fluke

They probably have, but not through PMs, I'm most definitely not using MTF's PM system for flirting purposes

The awesome part of DB for me is characters who actually change/grow old, develop relationships, etc. Pokemon looks same/predictable almost all the time, too childish in a way

For awesome character development, watch Digimon (Adventure and Tamers), it blows any other anime of the Mon genre in that department. Dragon Ball does have better character development than Pokemon (Ash is still the same age he was when the show started ), but at the expense of the plot imo. It's too slow paced and filled with pointless fillers - I actually have nothing against fillers in general when they're cool and interesting, but DGZ's are mostly just repetitive - and while some buildup to the final epic battle between Goku and Vegeta is not a problem, 200+ episodes is just way too much, especially since the battle doesn't even end then. Also, the distinction between good and evil is too simplistic/black and white.

From my experience, Dragon Ball is much more popular with casual fans (ie Dragon Balls as opposed to anime fans in general) than with anime/manga diehard fans. Naruto is kind of copying their successful formula: make it huge and use every pretext for a fight so people keep tuning in every week.

I don't mind Dragon Ball for the record, I actually watch it when it's on my cartoon channel and enjoy it, but i do think it's overrated compared to some other Mon series.

Yup, I am a casual fan, and mostly watched the whole original DB, and maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of DBZ... didn't have time to download the rest But yea, things like Ash looking exactly the same over years and wearing the freakin' same short sleeves whether it's blizzard or scorching sun is a bit ridiculous, they could've done something to clothes at least

Well, the Pokemon anime is far more a marketing vehicle than was the case for the other two, so they have to keep a whole lot of recognisable things in the show if they want to sell the games and the merchandise. But Pokemon, DBZ, Digimon - Big part of my childhood right there.

1-No, I don't like alcoholic beverages. Obviously I'm not saying I never touched alcohol, but with extreme moderation.

2-I have no idea, but of course trying to enforce stricter laws about sale and consumption would help.

Always found the Portuguese opening and ending songs much better, but this one is cool too.

You should watch it all if you find the time, you don't even need to download, I'm sure the episodes are available for direct watching either on Youtube or Project Free Tv or something. I find myself enjoying the anime series/kid shows I watched as a kid even more now that I'm older and can understand things better.

As for Pokemon, as point by Trollicki it was a merchandise driven series, much like Yu-gi-oh, so the constant elements were to be expected. It's still a very fun series to watch, I believe it stood the test of time far better than Dragon Ball.

Same here. Digimon was always my favorite of those, Adventure 01 and Tamers are just epic. I still get all sad when Takato and co. lose their digimon in the Tamers finale
