Monte Carlo Final: Djokovic roasts Nadal 6-2, 7-6(1)
The streak is over.
No1e started the match like a god - carrying the strength of Hercules and the speed of Mercury - and raced to a 5-0 lead. As he is still human, his level dropped in the middle of the match. Nadal threw everything he had but the World No. 1 will not be denied.
All hail Novak Djokovic, 2013 Monte Carlo Champion!

What a heroic display from the world number 1. To be able to defeat a 7 month, fully rested, peak Nadal on Rafa's BEST surface and Nole's WORST.....IN STRAIGHT SETS, all the while being plagued by a horrific ankle injury...And after going through the ordeals with his father's health, and his grandfather's death...Nole is simply the best. All I can say.

Strong stuff from Nole. The only one who can consistently keep Rafa unsettled and second-guessing on a clay court.
Meanwhile, Rafa was profoundly ineffectual out there. Not sure he has yet remembered how to open up a court and finish a point. Against Djoko, that is.
And the clay season begins!
