Default Early Stages of the Race to London

As it currently stands, the top 8 players currently heading to the WTF in 2014 are (with points in parentheses):

1) Matthew Ebden (160)
2) Novak Djokovic (150)
3) Filippo Volandri (110)
4) Leonardo Mayer (90)
5) Horacio Zeballos (90)
6) Jarkko Nieminen (80)
7) Andrey Golubev (80)
8) Marton Fucsovics (80)

The first alternate is Tennys Sandgren, also with 80 points.

I know there's still a lot of tournaments to play, but do you guys think these will be the final 8 come next November? I think Tennys has a chance if he goes deep in a few more tournaments. It's looking difficult for anybody to catch Ebden though at this early stage.

Too early in the season to say.

Seriously, though, everybody knows there's just one player out of those 8 that will surely be there. And that is GOATubev.

I'm a bit surprised to see that guy in 2nd. The others should pretty much have London sewn up already.

Judging by how close those points are, it's going to be an exciting race this year.

Zebellos shares the same first name as the great Lord Nelson

expect him to go Trafalgar on the French Open, he's a cert for London, possibly arriving in a coffin though...

I'm no Fakervic fan but he needs to save tennis, sadly tree trunk legs will be fresh. Interesting he's never questioned...

If Sandgren can close the gap the real winner will be Tennys

Change of the guard this year(it's not even 2014 yet but who cares ).Check out this young Filippo. He is quite a talent on clay. With these teasing and pleasing groundstrokes I'd be shocked if the didn't end the year inside the top 8

Pedro Sousa not that far either from top 8, either. Pretty sure he will do it, eventually.

Don't expect Volandri to take #1 until after grass court season though
