Default Explode a common tennis myth

Ferrer is a vulture who doesn't deserve to be ahead of Berdych/Tsonga/Del Potro.

Let's have a closer look at their h2hs

Ferrer 2 - Tsonga 1
2 wins on indoor hard and clay for Ferrer
1 win for Tsonga on grass

Ferrer 5 - Berdych 3
3 wins on clay, 2 on hard court for Ferrer
2 wins on clay, 1 on hard court for Berydch

Ferrer 6 - Del Potro 2
1 win on indoor hard, 2 wins on hard court, 1 win on clay, 2 wins on grass for Ferrer
2 wins on hard court for Del Potro

Proof that Ferrer has a far more rounded game than any of the other three.

of course
ferrer could be the least appreciated player in the history of tennis

he should hire PR agent, i think

or people just think tennis = top 4. the rest are vultures

then it's fair enough

Ferrer is having the best year in his career. He's seriously underrated. The rankings don't lie, he deserves to be there, and soon will be nº4. Federer, watch out...

Quoted for truth.

This is not a myth, but the absolute truth. Ferrer is a vulture and Berdych, Tsonga and Del Potro are far superior tennis players.

The main myth is that Ferrer is a full time defender, which isn't true.

But being a "vulture" is not a myth imo.

Which isn't smth necessarily bad anyway.

Of course it's not a myth. The only myth used to be that he was not a vulture - but that's a myth I debunked long ago and no longer exists for any reasonable tennis fan.

You can repeat that as much as you want, but won't find many to agree

The only thing here is you saying "Myth Busted" and that image on the show when they bust a myth.

Seriously now. Whether Ferrer is a vulture or not should not be important to anyone. Ferrer rarely has problems from players ranked below him, thus he has earned his ranking just below the Top 4. My live rankings has a certain column where all MS+GS points for each player are displayed. It goes like this for the Top 20:

1 Novak Djokovic 9870
2 Roger Federer 7565
3 Andy Murray 5850
4 Rafael Nadal 5055
5 David Ferrer 3935
6 Tomas Berdych 2905
7 Juan Martin Del Potro 2440
8 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 2215
9 Janko Tipsarevic 1955
10 Richard Gasquet 1755
11 Nicolas Almagro 1360
12 Juan Monaco 985
13 Milos Raonic 1045
14 John Isner 1395
15 Marin Cilic 1245
16 Gilles Simon 1135
17 Stanislas Wawrinka 1225
18 Alexandr Dolgopolov 680
19 Kei Nishikori 875
20 Philipp Kohlschreiber 1010

As one can see, Ferrer has more mandatory points than the following players anyway. Monaco is the player that has earned most of his points in non-mandatory tournaments. Dolgo also has a very low mandatory point count, followed by Nishikori. Even without Paris, Ferrer still scores more than Berdych.

How to argue the Mark Lenders way.

Blindly stumble around ignoring the facts until people get so bored of you that they are willing to ignore your tedious arguments; at which point you think you've won when really people just don't care enough to keep proving you wrong.

Yes he is vulture, but yes he deserve to be in ranking higher in 2012 - simply his season is very good and he is super-consitent, something Tsonga, Berdych and even Delpo can´t do

Those big hitters are bigger threats to top 4 and have higher peak level, but Ferrer at his best is so consistent and not loosing to mugs that he will always have enough points. So right now his ranking is well deserved also slam speaking - QF,SF,QF,SF - that´s something really impressive in 1 year to do. We will see how 2013 will go if Delpo and BErdych can take their level to higher level and play more consistent

He has those points because of his previous vulturing, which made him get an inflated ranking and thus getting easy draws in big events left, right and center. Usually he'd mug out anyway, but 2012 has been his career year so he has mostly been able to navigate through those weak draws until facing the first good player.

Tsonga went out to Klizan @USO and Berdych to Gulbis @Wimbledon... was that a hard draw?
