Well, he didn't play Barcelona last year, and he has room for improvement in Rome - so maybe, maybe if he gets some good draws, gets some good practice in, gets some good match play, maybe he can have a great clay season!

In fact, I would even go as far as to say that I can live quite happily after a player I like chokes, mugs, bashes, or otherwise succumbs to a loss.

Once he gets some clay under his feet I'm sure Richie will start playing better.

Yeah....there is something about clay that brings the best out of Richard...hopefully the fiery Richard would come out of his shell.

Good Luck Richard during the clay court season. It can't be any worse than his first quarter of the year (well according to Richard's standards it could be )

Re: ~@~@~@~ Claycourt Season 2006 ~@~@~@~
Is there any week of rest in between Monte-Carlo, Barcelona and Rome? I thought he would play in a smaller event (like Valencia) before MC to get some practicing and match-play under his belt, he really needs to be sharp if he wants to hold his ranking up and defend most of his points.
I'm with you guys hoping the clay season will bring the best of him! Good luck Richard! Allez!

I too thought that, but it'd be just too much tennis and clay is rather demanding since the points tend to be much longer. Well, perhaps if his clay results don't go as many of us hope (including him, I guess) he might possibly enter St. Poelten. Oops, Portschardt? I completely forgot the name of the new city hosting the event.
