What Will YOU remember the 2012 Season for in 20 years?
Simple topic. Doesn't have to be twenty years. it can be any time in the not so near future. When you look back on 2012 what will you remember the most about?
Mine: Nadal winning the French.

We're all shocked.
Two things:
1. Andy Murray winning his first major.
2. Roddick's emphatic farewell.
I know. You're all shocked.

I bet a million pounds none of you will remember that 2012 was the year of blue clay and jerzy janowicz' run in twenty years.
Anyway, Murray annihilating Olderer at the Olympics will be my pick, easy to remember

Re: What Will YOU remember the 2012 Season for in 20 years?
Matchpointovic, Janko's 3rd set vs Ferrer and his year-long stay in the top10, Rosol, Olderer's return to #1 to break the record, the wind, Novak not winning the Olympic gold (and Annie winning it) and the year where many good players retired (Gonzo, Ljubo, Roddick, Ferrero...). Maybe I'll remember Thugbandian's outburst.

Fed unmasking the "Spartan era clownery" by winning wimbledon for a seventh time and getting back his #1 ranking at 31 to break the record and reach 300 weeks.

8th day of July 2012: 7-time Wimbledon champion!
Once upon a time there was a myth about strong and weak eras. On this glorious day the clownery was eventually unmasked: 30 y.o. past-prime daddy Fed became #1 once again in the supposed strong "Spartan" era with his rivals at their peak.
And they all lived happily ever after.
Long live King Federer!
17 Grand Slam titles
7 Wimbledon titles
302 weeks at #1

If I'm still alive I hope to remember lots of things. I remember more things about the 1992 season that I care to list here.

Spartan era clownery still stands IMO.
But for real, you guys need to realise that Fed's return to #1 was mostly due to his great results at the end of last year and Wimbledon. If you look at this year only, Fed was really anywhere near the best player in the world 'only' in 2 tournaments - Wimbledon and Cincy.... And even in W he was poor until the SF.
