So when someone breaks their leg at 6-7 3-5, they shouldn't be allowed to retire?

Another idiotic thread from the 28 year old. So if a players leg is visibally snapped in half they should be forced to play to the end?

I would finish and so would a true professional.

Retiring a few games or even points before the end of the match is cowardly, plain and simple.

In tennis? Never as far as I know. It is just an example though, you could not possibly make a rule like this.

No, because there are extending circumstances. I've said this before and will again. The only instance where it is acceptable to retire is if one must seek medical attention immediately or is in danger of death.

Otherwise, finish the match.

Yes. Each half should then grab a racquet and finish the match playing doubles.

If it is legitimate, of course.

No way you can regulate this kind of stuff. Retiring when you are in a losing position when it is not legitimate is bad sportsmanship but that is it.

Breaking your leg is an extreme and unlikely example, but it is possible. There are other possibilities I am sure.

It is amazing that some players do it during the slams.
