Yup but Novak's mentality is enough to take care of him. How often do you see lower-ranked players with such a close H2H against someone who's obviously their superior

Watch the footage. I lost count of the number of times he saved BP's at big moments.

Played some big, ballsy points in the tie breaks against an in-form, red hot Lopez.
Played some big serves in the 4th set TB against Berdych plus a BIG backhand winner when set point down
Outlasted a champ like Nole in the 5th set with some big serving- especially game 6 which he slammed the door firmly shut.
He deserved to win it but until he can do it more, Novak remains the boss man. This is not rocket science.

He won something like 7/7 tie-breaks, many from 5-2 or set point down etc. Basically any set that was close he would find a way to win it, seems to have lost that ability for now.

Yeah, Murray is a horrible matchup for Novak, he can nullify his attacking weapons and bring his level down big time. Fortunately for Novak, his huge mental superiority should be enough to prevent Murray ever taking over their H2H - but it will always be the toughest matchup for Novak imo.

True, but they weren't really wasted if he still came through the won each match right?
Wasted would be Shanghai this year, when he had MP's on his serve and lost the match in 3.

That's true but those things happen. It's how you react to those things which defines your mental strenght/clutchness and Andy responded great.

Can some ppl stop mentioning that USO final in every freaking Nole/Murray thread? Some ppl need to get over it. Murray won fair and square. End of.

I agree with this.
A point or two decided USO, it was that close. Every match is that close.
