Actually Tipsy was way worse than those guys at Basel. Becker and Bellucci had a better-prepared gameplan, and was able to attack at times. I do agree to an extent that Fed has perhaps improved slightly due to some rest, but Tipsy was too unsure of himself today and was too passive at times.

This would actually not be a bad scenario. Then in the last match Delpo and Federer could 'conspire' to send Ferrer out like they did with Murray back in 2009

Tipsy was disappointing but Roger was never losing this one. JMDP vs Ferrer will be important when looking at who will qualify.

I didnt say that, I think Murray is the favorite against Federer and has an excellent gameplan to beat Federer anywhere. I just think Federer will routine Nole as he usually does indoors, this is not clay with bad bounces and wind, Djokovic wont be able to break Feds backhand down and probably the opposite will happen because the slice sits down very low on these courts.

If Nole plays good, Olderer BH and whole game will fall apart per usual.

Well, since we have been on the subject of tanks, I wouldn't mind Fed giving it a little less in his last match if he's already assured of the top spot. He'll have a lot less rest than the other group, so he needs all the advantage he can get.

However, I am a bit torn on who I want to progress from this group. I'd love to see Ferrer get to the final and take RN out of the top 4, so Roger can play him in the AO SF () but I like Delpo more. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

One last thing that I am also thinking about is that Janko has his best chance for a win against Ferrer in this group when you consider their USO match.

Tipsarevic is just hopeless against Roger and Rafa. He might beat a Murray or Nole once or twice though in 10 tries

Federer constantly camping in his backhand corner and doing whatever he wants with the slow and shallow balls Tipsarevic consistently sends there, while the other side of the court remains wide open.

I can name you around 800 ATP players that would have beaten today's Tipsarevic.

This is low bouncing and no wind/bad bounces which is the most important factor for Federer anywhere.

Djokovic will be declared ill after he loses this one too.

Enough prizemoney here for greederer, and no reason to upset the tournament director for not giving him another million, thus a dominating performance.

(Federer did nothing wrong in Basle contract negotiations off course)
