Well, they might. Djokovic however really got to beat the odds to beat the 31 year old in this venue.

Roman Emperorer in warm up mode. Yes, that was not all he had. He looked to have rekindled some of that extra spring in his step. I did not think he'd have enough left for the WTF but the big events always seem to motivate this GOAT.

The fact is, success in DC is largely determined by what country you come from or play for in the first place, which most players haven't had any control over.

He needs to bagel Tsonga and Murray to have bagelled the whole tennis elite of his era. Except Safin.

Quite doable, especially Tsonga if he keeps stinking as of late.

Good start. A match against Tipsarevic doesn't give any indication on Fed's form though. We'll need to see how well he fares against the likes of Delpo, let alone Nole/Murray.

And they all lived happily ever after.
Long live King Federer!

Nole should tank to not meet with Federer, I think he should save himself for venues where he can grind the old man down. He surely doesnt want to repeat the humiliating experiences of Wimbledon and Cincinatti or that hattrick in indoor season 2010.

Can't see Federer losing this tournment, especially since Berdych Will be Out after RR. Djokovic and Murray are not in great form, and the in-form players, Delpo and Ferrer, are literally Federers two best match-ups.

I agree, but Federer seemed better than 2 weeks ago against worst players than Tipsy. IMO we need to wait until the match against Delpo.

I am really hoping David pulls off the win (in 3) today against DelPo and then Roger tears him to shreds for the 14th time in 2, so he's assured of the top spot .

Why are you calling Tipsarevic qualifying a disgrace for tennis? It's not his fault Nadal retired and Tipsy deserves to be number 9. I mean he didn't "vulture" tournaments to get on this poisition. He won it fair and square. Would've been any better with Almagro or Gasquet? I sincerly doubt it

Stop whining

Sure thing lol. This court is slow and you think Olderer will win whole thing after watching him beating awful Tipsarevic. Nole will routine Olderer like in RG and Rome.
