Imagine how much he's going to get owned with a 6 monts interruption in 2012!
I remember reading once that each month aside takes two months to return on former level. So six months aside, 12 months to return on former level. May Rafa's knees even last that long?

He is 26.5 and Its been more then 2 years since he won a non clay title, sorry but I doubt he will ever get back to n.1

Beside NadalDjoker, this is a pitiful decade which had clowns who qualified for the top 8. Most of these so-called top players couldn't beat top 10 players during Davis Cup, Olympics & Slams, but somehow they were ranked top 10 or even #1.

unless of course, after Rafa's 6-month preventive suspension, he'll serve a 2-year ban like puerta and korda

Isn't nadal the RG defending champion?!

He has won at least a slam for the past 8 years. When did he stop winning slams?!

New peak age in tennis is 30.

We're not talking about the senior tour, bitter fanboy.

Nope. He only wins on clay for almost 2 years now.

We're past "almost". It's officially 25 months since his last non-clay title in Tokyo 2010.

Default Re: Will Nadal ever return to world number 1 again?

frauderer cried that he couldn't beat nadal on clay, and complained that everyone else let him win but nadal was mean and wouldn't

nadal was confused, as he was simply playing tennis

this led to serious tension for frauderina worshippers like roddick, who whined that he was the real rival

unfortunately for roddick, real rivals learn basic tennis strokes and beat their rival on big occasions

roddick contented himself with putting on weight and having a positive head to head against djokovic, the real number 1

arrogant frauderer launched verbal abuse in pressers and was happy to abuse wawrinka for davis cup losses

Yes, next season. He and Nole are the clear best two players in tennis in terms of general level. With nothing to defend after Roland Garros, being mentally rested, 2013 is shaping up to be a beautiful one for Rafa.

Don't tell me you're another one of those "Nothing to defend"-guys. Having nothing to defend is only an advantage if you're on about equal standing to start with. This is not the case here. Nadal will have to defend all his points before he gets to the part of the season where his point count might improve. And even if he gets to defend his present points - don't forget he was behind in the race after Wimbledon this year. He will never be expected to be #1 on the strength of a great fall season, he needs to be solidly in the lead after the clay part of the season is done, and he failed to do this in 2012 even before his injury.
