Well, at least we agree on that part. It seems even that is too hard to comprehend for the haters.

He is attacking all the time, but with a bigger margin of error than brainless ballbashers like Berdych and Tsonga. But there aren't many players who have David's accuracy.

I enjoy starting threads where people feel the need to defend themselves as they inevitable make it worse for themselves.

At the minute, all those who are anti-Ferrer are comming across as incredible thick and stupid.

I`m scared to ask, but how you would rate TOP-5 most talented players ever according to your system?

In all seriousness it starts with Santoro obviously, goes through Bahrami, Federer, Sampras and perhaps Leconte.

That would be my top 5 at first sight. McEnroe should be near as well, Becker and Edberg perhaps too.

Doubters will always be doubters no matter how much the player they doubt achieves. They'll just come up with excuses and new reasons to doubt them to justify their previous comments.

Ferrer could win several masters and even a slam and still have the same doubters calling him a fluke. It's not entirely their fault though, having tennis knowledge is not neccesarily part of the job description for tennis fans

Mmm, strange, very hard to see the similarities and causes. I see why you include Santoro and Bahrami (I don`t agree at all, but it doesn`t matter), hovewer what on earth Sampras is doing here then and - especially - Becker?

Now, the doubters have been silenced temporarily.

The haters, however, will live on in full flow.

The people who dislike Ferrer do so because he doesn't beat elite players and he doesn't play an overtly "exciting" brand of tennis. So no, the doubting will not leave at all, and never will, until Ferrer beats the elite players at least once in a while. And even then, many will dislike him because he's not enough of a ballbasher.

He deserves one TMS- he's beaten enough good players including Nadal twice in slams, Murray also, 5 wins over Djokovic, dominant h2h over Delpo to warrant being in the TMS club. That being said, he shouldn't really be winning this one, a tournament that used to be a proper indoor speed.

He doesn't have the tools to win a slam, but a TMS he has a decent enough forehand with spin, ROS, speed, defence and passing shots to win a MS. This will probably be his biggest career win, mind.

If he ever makes a GS final I'll stop with my hate. In fact if he makes a GS final (assuming Tsonga and Berdych don't make another before that), I'll rate him higher than both. No kidding...

Becker? He won Wimbledon at 17. At 17 you have nothing But talent. Here's a short clip of an interesting TB http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3rGPOde5Ss

Sampras - to ask me why i think Sampras is among the most talented players in the world is like asking me the same about Federer. Serve, BH, FH, volleys, decisions - all about talent and work too ofc, but the base is very clear.

I would ask - why wouldn't you agree about Santoro's talent? That's pretty strange to me tbh, Bahrami perhaps you're right (but we both haven't seen much of his tennis, maybe i've seen a bit more, but still not too much), but Santoro is the illustration of what a God gifted talent is.

Unless all the seven best players in the world are planning to tank a Grand Slam any time soon, it's not just probably, it's a certainty.
