Default Have the Ferrer doubters finally been silenced?

Been a bit quiet on here since he demolished Tsonga. What's wrong Lenders & co?

And what would make Ferrer's haters change their minds? He simply availed himself of a quite easy draw and absence/early exit of superior players(Fed,Nole,Murray).
Ferrer hasn't done anything particularly different from what he usually does- beating lower ranked players.

Fererer is the guy that made the most of a tennis career without having almost any talent and that's a very respectable accomplishment.

But that's what he is, you can't make him an exciting player, he's winning matches that are on the opponent's racquet and that's how it will always be.

His run to this final (most probably tittle as well) won't change anything to what ppl think about him. The fans will like, the haters will ignore and that's that.

There are only 3 players ranked above him (well 4, but one has injured since wimby)

Yeah. It's his inability of winning a tournament beating one of the top 4 in the process that makes him a vulture. Beating tsonga in clownga mode isn't that impressive.

Ferrer hate isn't based on any sensible arguments, so it obviously won't stop.

By what? Possibly winning a masters by defeating Llodra and Janowicz in the final two rounds?

Easy question: No one ever has hated Ferrer and no one ever will.

I fail to comprehend why Vulture's lovers try so desperately to portray him as a talented, quite offensive-minded player. Just deal with the obvious fact that Ferrer lacks the natural predisposition to practise this sport and will never surpass certain level.
He's just a boring player who benefits from a extremely weak era.

Not seeing that Ferrer is an attacking player just shows a lack of tennis knowledge. But do you actually believe it's possible to be world number 4 without being talented ?

Let's be real for a moment.

The man has fourteen wins over the top 4! All this negativity has, not coincidentally, coincided with his most successful year on tour. Go back twelve months and there was barely a bad word said about him, mostly he was respected. Now people are agitated that he is doing substantially better than their favoured players, while supposedly having less ability.

A lot of the negativity is also a result of Mark Lenders' arrival, the pied piper of Ferrer hatred. It just proves that if you say something with enough conviction and regularity, the more impressionable of us will believe it to be true, never mind the complete lack of objective fact.

He is also penalised for being able to win titles and consistently reach latter stage of tournaments, meaning he faces the top 4 more often than the rest of the top 20 players. In other words, if he was less consistent, there may be a different image of him with regards to being top 4 cannon fodder.

Excellent post. Of course Lenders knows this too, bu I understand it's fun to just spew complete bullshit and have some dumb posters who actually start to believe you.
