BOLD PREDICTION: Janowicz won't ever enter Top 10, will disappear after Bercy
You heard it first.
No way this living fluke whose arrogance is beyond every limit will ever do something significant after Bercy.
Back to challengers? Probably, at his best he is stuff for being a random Quarterfinalist at ATP 250.

god, give it a rest.
where are the mods to merge all the janowicz threads? they found time to kick the Llodra/Ljubicic thread into Off-Topic (even though it lived on GM for years) but they let these duplicate threads litter up the GM page one?

Re: BOLD PREDICTION: Janowicz won't ever enter Top 10, will disappear after Bercy
you might be right. This will either be his coming out event or the biggest oddity all year.
he beat a bunch of great players but at the end of the year when no one really gives a shit anymore. Ill be curious to see how he does when everyone is fresh at the beginning of next season

He has been slumping for ages, I can totally see him out of Top 50 next year at least.

Re: BOLD PREDICTION: Janowicz won't ever enter Top 10, will disappear after Bercy
Despite it's a crappy thread i'd rather expect smth like that instead of him becomming top 10 next year as expected by many.
At least history has shown this kind of career development much more often than the sudden top 10 contender actually getting there soon enough.
A first round loss in AO to Mahut/Sela/Malisse or similar and the hype is over.
From now on he'll have to deal with high expectations, constant interviews, greedy agents, contracts with sponsors, shooting for sponsors, visiting zoos for sponsors, open training sessions, talk shows, money management, family getting crazy over the multi million future, specialists a la Wilander and McEnroe giving advices, coaches aproaching, tournaments proposing appearing fees, DC team asking full time dedication, Polish TA photo shoots for PR, parenting junior tournaments, etc., etc.
These are many tasks he has no idea how to deal with and these usually suffocates youngsters like him, so unless he is a geniusly talented career manager - he's about to have hard times.
Wish him the best as he has potential to be a regular top 30 in 2-3 years.

Calm down Hian.
Janowicz's hype is well justified in relation to his potential/current talent, at least way more than when the Goffin's and Klizan's bandwagons were emerging IMO. Of course this latter two have managed to get some solid results to keep climbing the rankings and will be interesting to see if Jerzy's able to or not. Odds are in his favour i would say.

Re: BOLD PREDICTION: Janowicz won't ever enter Top 10, will disappear after Bercy
well, he's been a great junior and he was expected to have a breakthrough sooner or later
i dont get these comments "maybe will be top 30 in 2-3 years" - excuse me, the guy is 21 yo... who else is there to replace the likes of Federer, Ferrer, Haas, Tsonga?
it's not like there are millions of these young guys breaking through
absolutely valid expectation for him to be long term top 20 player, if his shoulder holds to it
just look - he nearly doesn't defend points, just some challenger tiny points for most of the season, where he'll play and will be seeded on the main tour
it's different when a 27 yo Rosol beats Nadal once from nothing indicating this, and a young player, after improving his results, suddenly shooting out
anyone remembers Raonic winning ATP titles from nowhere (first qualifying for AO and playing great there) last season, beating good players? he stayed around and belongs to the top
and came from futures/challengers as well

The Raonic example is a good point indeed. Exception so far, but still it's a good point, hopefully Jerzy follows up.
But the replacement thing is not a great argument as neither of those guys is actually retiring, only Hewitt maybe, but he's not holding Jerzy's place.
In top 30 you have 30 players at the moment and none of them is yet retiring, so instead f replacing he will have to be outplaying. Which he might do, you never know of course.
I'm a bit concerned about this shoulder thing - has he had problems with it?
