The way he plays reminds me of Rosol though. The Rosol of that Nadal fifth set that is, Jerzy's a much, much better player already than Lukas.

Disgusting lack of sportsmanship from Tipsarevic. Janowicz blew him off the court. If you can stand up, 1.5 games to go, finish the match, even if you hit every shot into the net. Give the guy the clean victory he deserves. This is just as bad as Bogolomov, Jr. retiring to Clement on match point. Awful, awful, awful.

Reason: Match point as Deathless Mortal reminded me. Thx.

Yep, Tipsy would belong to WTA. His behaviour would be normal there.

WTF are some people glad their "favourite" tanks or retire?
Where is the pride? lots of snobs in this sport.
Janowicz is a mix of Karlovic/Stepanek/Gabashvili/Dolgopolov.

Re: Paris QF: Janowicz def. Tipsarevic 3-6 6-1 4-1 ret.
Janowicz was on French TV 2 minutes ago and he looked well composed and already thinking of tomorrow's match.
The public was delighted with him (already when he walked on court actually)
As for real deal or not, I don't know I think he's a future top-20 for sure, probably top-10 but I don't know more.
He has a good game and looks more motivated for the game and also with mind and eyes more focused than another one who looked like him : Gulbis.
Also he seems more eager to learn the game, how to play it, than Gulbis.
What is also strange to me is that he doesn't look that tall on TV : 2.03 m, doesn't look like that.
PS : please stop that tanking gimmick, is it so much fun of all sharing something stupid ? well I'm not that in such adolescent pleasures.

I think he was feeling dizzy, but that's no reason why he can't stand there, let Janowicz serve one more ace, than hit 2 DFs and 2 bad serves and let Janowicz hit return winners.

Re: Paris QF: Janowicz def. Tipsarevic 3-6 6-1 4-1 (40-0) ret.
I have always liked Janko, but I definitely do think that after the first set, it looked like a tank job...When was the last time Janko lost a set 6-1 this year? I had a feeling that after he qualified for the WTF yesterday and realized Simon won today, he decided to tank...I am sure he knew his chances of beating Simon at his home tournament would be 0% considering his abysmal record against him....Why expend all that effort to lose tomorrow and decrease your chances of winning any matches in London? ...Normally, I wouldn't mind if he retired, but the match was almost over and it really took away from Jerzy's sublime performance after the first set (which I think he would have won if he wouldn't have lost serve in his opening service game)...No one wants to win a match with a retirement regardless of the real reasons behind it...
So fucking happy for Jerzy Jagger...He really does deserve to win the title here simply based on the players he has had to beat to get to the SF and through the qualifying draw....So exciting to watch a dream run like this by a young guy...It just makes you really want him to keep going regardless of who is tanking or retiring or playing badly against him...He is taking full advantage of this opportunity and his tennis is superb....What great memories he will have of Paris, beating two Top 20 players, a Top 10 player, and the US Open/Olympics champion...So much to build on for him and you can tell how much it means to him Win the title, Jerzy

At least Bogo was actually cramping against Clement and couldn't launch the ball...

Yes, you are right. Good description.
He serves even better than Gulbis, but the main problem of Gulbis are motivation problems as we know and I don't think Janowicz has those sort of problems.

Yeah. I don't even necessarily doubt that he wasn't feeling 100% but either retire halfway through the second set due to your "illness" or let the guy get a proper win. Like you, I like Tipsy well enough but this was embarrassing. I wonder what he's going to say at the press conference.
