Default Has watching tennis made you play tennis or vice versa?

When I started to play tennis I hadn't followed tennis very closely. And I didn't first play because I was a tennis fan. But playing tennis made me interested to watch tennis.

But what's the case with you, did you first play or watch?

I have played tennis on no more than a few occassions. It's difficult to hit the other side of the court, and therefore not very enjoyable.

I watch only, but would like to play. However, I don't think I'd be any good.

I watched tennis for many years before I started playing. I can say I would have never started if I didnt first watch some great tennis, it was my inspiration.

I started playing at 5, but didn't watch until 7, and didn't follow obsessively until 12 or 13.

So playing the game introduced it to me, to be honest.

I watched first, then played. Totally didn't give a shit about sports though, until I randomly saw Roger play on TV one day.

I started tennis when I was 5, so I played first obviously.

Became a fed fan when I was 13.

If you think I spend time watching mugs clown around on a tennis court, then you're mistaken. It explains my quality analysis.

But playing is hella fun.

Same here, I voted "I don't play" because I don't think having played 2 or 3 times counts.

I think I would like to play actually, but I already dance and skate, and that's almost unreasonable already, I wish I could practice ten other sports but I don't have time

Hard to say. I started playing when I was 7, so I'll just go for ''I played first, then started to watch'', since I obviously didn't really follow the tour yet at that age.

But the year before I already went to Roland Garros, so that's pretty hardcore for someone who doesn't watches tennis .
