Re: Bernard Tomic at 20, slamless and title-less.
the great irony (of course) being that if tomix had won some challengers this year he would be called king vulture here at mtf
i can imagine mark lenders destroying him for only beating mugs
you literally cannot win at mtf
even if you won calender GS- they would just say its a mug era

Welcome to life. Welcome to objectivity, where all arguments are valid to a degree.

Right now due to ranking yes, as for the future, probably not.

Re: Bernard Tomic at 20, slamless and title-less.
Considering the hype he got, along with Dimitrov, he'll be remembered as one of the biggest failures in recent times. The guy has no future at the top of the game.

Not so sure about that, name any teenager with any prospect whatsoever between 17-19 at the moment?
Tomic is waiting for Djokovic/Murray to turn 30 and Federer 35 to peak at 25 in the worst era of all time.

Don't you mean 17-20, cause Tomic is 20.
There are a decent amount of 17-20's out there with good potential, Thiem being one.

Re: Bernard Tomic at 20, slamless and title-less.
further proof why contrary to what you all say, I think del potro, djokovic and nadal (and maybe murray) will contiune winning slams into their late 20s and 30s, the next era is the true weak era if there ever was one

Re: Bernard Tomic at 20, slamless and title-less.
Soon we will have threads like "Will Tomic ever be TOP-10 player?" or even "Will Tomic ever win a title?".
He just was overrated at start. He will have his time, but later and less than someone suggested.

Re: Bernard Tomic at 20, slamless and title-less.
The most maddening thing about Tomic is that he clearly has the talent to win multiple slams.
But he just stubbornly refuses to put in the hard work.
Such a waste.
I hope it won't be too late before he realizes that talent alone doesn't get you places.

Re: Bernard Tomic at 20, slamless and title-less.
It's far too early to write him off yet. Give him a few years and i'm sure he'll win at least one slam.

So are we all "talentless no-hopers jealous of my mad skills", as Tomic said?
Or does Tomic really have mad skills? Speed and footwork is part of talent too, which Tomic is simply lacking. Name me one thing that Tomic does better than the top 4.
Bottom-line: Tomic's game looks interesting and he has good tennis brain, but that is not everything in talent.

No he doesn't.
He's got to be the highest ranked player never reach an ATP final, or at least one of them.
