Most probably there will be only three wild-cards I guess. Not sure why this year all ATP 500 tournaments had 4 WC's listed on the entry lists, when all of them ended up using just three.

nearly all the players ranked #8 to #20 have entered here. It's very risky because most of them will end with QF or less, having to play very difficult matches in the process. It's a "all or nothing" thing.

I don't know for how many of them this is right but anything is better as a 0 in ATP500 obligation tournaments.

Probably because at this stage of the season, and for this group of players, it's about making the WTF or nothing. A few of them will have a chance at that with a win here over their closest combatants. Sure, finishing top10 is nice too but it doesn't matter much in comparison I reckon.
